In motion

Right on your tail

A real race, straight from the game on a phone. The camera rides with your truck, close enough to see every splash, bump and pass, while the mini-map shows what's coming at the next crossing.

Gameplay on a phone: the start lights go green and four race trucks splash through the first crossing of a figure-eight dirt track, the camera following the red truck

The game

Four trucks. One stadium.

Every race is four pickups and four laps around a dirt stadium track. Hit the ramps, clip the hay bales, trade paint in the turns and save your nitro for the last straight.

  1. Line up

Pick your color and take the grid against three rival trucks. A race lasts about a minute.

  2. Race

Tabletops, whoops, mud and oil. Bump, get bumped, and grab cash and nitro off the dirt.

  3. Upgrade

Spend your winnings on engine, speed, tires and shocks, then move up a class to a faster truck and bigger prize money.

Features

Built for one more race

Short races, big air and a career that keeps pulling you back to the start line.

  • Figure eights and wrong turns

Tracks cross over themselves at open crossings. Thread through traffic and pick the right branch, or watch the pack drive away.

  • Nitro and boost pads

Tap NITRO for a burst of speed, hit the chevron pads for a free shove, and pick up extra nitro off the dirt. Timing is everything.

  • Mud, sand, oil and water

Mud bogs drag you down, sand steals your grip, oil slicks spin you out, and the water gaps want a full-throttle jump.

  • 30 tracks, 5 classes

Six tracks per class, each raced forward or in reverse. Climb the career one cup at a time.

    2. Pro
    3. Veteran
    4. Elite
    5. Legend
  • An 80s radio

Four California stations on the dial, and you can switch mid-race.

    • Surf rock
    • Sunset synthwave
    • Stadium rock
    • Boardwalk funk
  • Race teams and seasons

Start a team or join one. A team cut of every driver's winnings fills the team bank, which buys sponsor deals for everyone, and the monthly season boards keep the fight fresh.

  • Ghost time trials

Race your own ghost lap after lap, shave off tenths and post your best times to the global and friends leaderboards.

  • Free to download

Free on iPhone and Android, and the whole career plays offline.

Something else on your mind? The support page has more answers and a way to reach us.

Where can I play?

On iPhone and Android phones. Retro Offroad is coming soon to both, and the release date will be announced here.

How much does it cost?

Retro Offroad is free to download on iPhone and Android.

Can I race my friends?

Every race is you against three computer-driven trucks. Your friends come in through the leaderboards: add them with their driver code, compare times on every track, join the same race team and fight for the monthly season boards.

Do I need to be online?

No. The whole career plays offline. Leaderboards, friends and race teams need a connection.

How do the controls work?

The gas is automatic. Your left thumb steers with a floating stick, and on the right you tap NITRO and hold BRAKE. Prefer buttons? Switch to left and right steering buttons on the title screen.

What data do you collect?

Very little: just an anonymous guest account if you use the online features. The details are in our privacy policy.

Who makes it?

Veilbreak Games, LLC. Writing about the game? Logos, screenshots and facts are in the press kit.
